Djinn Powers
- Being born from smokeless fire, djinn are affiliated with fire and hold control over it.
- Djinn can turn invisible
- They can also transform into animals and reside within natural inanimate objects such as rocks and trees as well as in the air and in fire.
- What they are not is immortal. Djinn do need to eat and sleep. They do not age, but can be killed, though it is difficult to do. While trapped within the gem, Nahir's food needs are attended to by part of the magic trapping him, as otherwise he might have starved long before now.
- Djinn are not technically wish-granters by nature, but may turn their powers in that regard. Rather than conjure things out of thin air, however, they use their other powers to arrange things to obtain what the other person wished for. Teleporting jewels from someone else's treasury, for instance, or shapeshifting to trick someone into agreeing to a deal they wouldn't normally.
- They can curse people to get sick, and this sickness is highly resistant to medical treatment, but vulnerable to shamanic or other magical healing.
- Djinn are especially good at possession and can take over a person if necessary.
- They can also fly without the need for wings.
- Djinn are naturally stronger than humans physically, but have just as much emotional vulnerability and are equally as prone to mistakes in judgement. This is why humans can still match against them in battle, as strategy and intelligence play factors still.
